Year 2005 Autumn-2006 Autumn

Well, many thing happened during these period of time. After my first MSc graduation, this is really a unsteady period of time. Yet, before everything else, I should tell you how I meet Eva. ^_^

Imperial College London

Entering Imperial College and study Computer Science serious had always been my dreams, and finally been realised, but not completed for financial reasons. Maybe one day in the future, I could still come back and do another PhD in Artificial Intelligence.

And this is the earliest photos of Eva and me together. The boy on the left was our classmate, Twinsen. He is very very good at playing dancing machine, real competitive with me!!! We three were like kind of buddies among the very few Chinese students in the Uni.

There was a Uni club I used to go as well, but not very fond of, because they shout too much than really fight! ~

I had to walk across Hyde Park for the classes every morning, the sceneries there are really pleasant.

Or randomly staying with a kind friend. ;P

There is a great art gallery as well. I normally go there after during lunch break. Sometimes with Eva.
Two short films in the Park. One is little Shaolin monks morning practice, another one is - swan.

Working in London

Although, did not really want to start working yet, I found a job a nearby Rachida's house in London - RedeemIt Ltd, as a marketing analyst. The company is mainly in ticketing and mobile phone area. They have imported a two dimensional bar code technology, and selling is as a new ticketing and coupon system which is distributed though mobile message.

You may already see a few Lavesphere today (Gavitec.de), which is a small square of black and white graphics that contains a huge amount of numeric information. A few times smaller than traditional bar code, but a few times more recognizable by machines - the second generation of bar code system. Expected to replace it in next few years.

The company simply provide the service to send this type of graphic information to target mobile phone as a coupon or ticket. The message is delivered by a special Gavitec machine, through mobile network, and will be received in most types of mobiles, even very old ones.

RedeemIt aims at global market, and planning to expand its business through Europe, US, Asia and the entire planet. So my main job was to collect marketing data of their next target, and report to the head committee the mighty opportunity and threat the company will be opposed to. Kind of market research.

During these months, I had to dress up and travel from Queensway Road to Putney every morning, and have lunch in a English fast food restaurant. My main purpose of working there was to learn from the CEOs about how to do business. who were in same office, but got only very few opportunities to go meeting outside the office with them, which is a little pity.

Happy Spare Time
Time fly, but never forget to have funs. ^_^ Many things happened during this period. I mainly go to Gym to build up my strength back (photos with the gym managers below, just received a free three months package because of Rachida ;), watching movies (found a good one: Dawson's Creek and Dark Angel by Jessica Alba, entire series), Paint more landscapes, Going to a Japanese Language School, and then Camden College. ;P

My first art student and her first inspired work. I believe you knew her! :)

More of my new paintings are available here and this special one below is for Roya's Wedding ~

Gigi lived in same room before I moved in to stay with Rachida. She is very happy posing in her old domain.. "the quiz me girl"! haha

Japanese Language School
Very funny Japanese people. Every body got a big smile. Although I have learnt a little Japanese before when I was in China many years ago, attending a few classes of such school hosted by real Japanese feels really different and marvellous.

Above is famous Japanese "Cha Do" (The Art of Tea). Below is calligraphy. By nature I can write better than any of them, because Japanese had no writing, but was learnt from China in Dang Dynasty. Of course, I am not a great calligraphy writer in Chinese. ;P

Below are two of my interesting gentle teachers and little classmates. During the spring festival time, we had a lot of fun. See more photos here.

My Singing Teacher

Shouldn't forget Nic as well. We met each other in the theatre by the Angel station (which I mentioned last Spring), when he was with his boy friend. :P

We discovered that we have the same hobby in music and dance. He is a professional singer, but he knew I can do websites, so we made an agreement, which is that I create a website for him, and he will teach me a singing class every week! ^_^ "Deal!"

Classes were token in the music room of an art University (..golden smith?). Below you'll see a few photographs I took of Nic there during our classes and for the website. About the website, its structure has been completed a lot time ago, but Nic never send me his writings and latest work for the content. Well, I guess he is waiting for becoming famous first. :P Check the flash structure of his website here and index

Camden College
To enhance my working skills and communication during a job, I went to Camden College for the Working Language course. However, because there were not too many students enrol that course, I ended up doing a language course with a bunch of teenage students from Europe. Did not really learnt much thing, or the thing I wanted, but I did have a great great time!! ~ those course mates and young friends are fantastic. More Photos Here.

Despite of short 'boring' class times, we most time being very drunk and crazy together, even the teacher! ~ ^_^

In front of BBC Studio. We got a free ticket from head of the School, and attended a programme called: "Mind the Gap"

Found two artists in the group. We went to a gallery and do sketches together ~

This is Shuning's Sketch. She is also very good at writing. Click here to read some of her publications and more drawings. (Shuning was born in Taiwan and married in Japan, and now living in Japan.)

On my birthday party in Rachida's house. There were too many guests that Rachida and her sisters had to go to the pub.~ ;P

Some landscape photos that I took during these time near camden ~

Church Time
Since I couldn't go to Bracknell with Ben any more, he introduced me to another English Church near by. Their service was brilliant, and I was in their Choir Group. His undergraduate classmate was there. I gave one of my paintings to the Church. Hope its still hanging there. ^_^

Click below icons to see some videos. ^_^

The beloved Korean Church Time
Of course, I still go to the Korean Church in Royal Holloway, whenever time allows. Below is a photo of preparation before service.

The Korean Embassador's Talk
her daughter

Some Videos of the Praying (for sound only, picture quality is not great)

Went to dinner and Karaoke with Nuna (means "big sister") afterward. ~  ^_^

There had also been a very pretty Korean Girl ~

Jin was studying jewellery design in London University of Art. Below is a few photographing I did for her graduation designs. She said, the idea under this group of jewelleries was "the hidden jewellery". Means, the most valuable jewellery stone part was hidden behind the decorations.

We attended her exhibitions a few days later, as well. with nuna ~  ^_^

Jessica her brother run into me one day in Royal Holloway after the service. So they gave me a lift, and we found a great place for photographing. Actually, I had seen there many time one the train, and wanted to go there long long time ago. Thanks to these two mates, that I finally realised one of my little wonders. More photos are available on Jessica and Lina's album site. Click here to Enter Jessica and her brother's gallery page.

Chinese NAU Visitors
Some very special visitors, my undergraduate supervisor and professors from Nan Jing Audio University, also visited London. They were having a meeting with the CII ( The Chartered Insurance Institute), to discuss about transferring the international insurance certificate to China. I happened to be their assistant translator and reporter. For more photos during this trip, click here. And to know more about NAU, please go to their official website.

Random Landscapes
Of course, again, there are a huge amount of landscape photos taken by me during these period of time. Yet, for time concern and length of this page, two sceneries which I almost see every day during these wandering year are below -- the Queen's Town Train Station, for work and the city.
